Please make sure your dancers are backstage completely dressed (with hair, makeup, shoes and accessories) before their designated time. It is unfair to expect the teachers and back stage parents to hold a class of students late while waiting for a tardy student. **Please be respectful of your dancer’s class and arrive on time to rehearsal and recital. Each class will have a large sign for you to look for around the perimeter of the lobby. At the show’s conclusion, stage parents will bring the dancers back to the lobby area and will keep them altogether until parents meet and collect them. Pick up at recital: Dancers will remain backstage with Synergy faculty and stage parents for the entire one hour recital. Pick up at dress rehearsal: Dancers will be escorted by their stage mom and released after they dance. Please have your dancers go to the bathroom before they go backstage. Please send your dancer backstage wearing their costume and proper shoes, carrying their coverup and dance bag. Students should wear their costumes and correct hair for dress rehearsal but makeup is NOT required.ĭrop off: When you arrive, please stop at our check-in table where an assistant, teacher or stage parent will collect the students and escort them backstage. Only stage parents will be allowed backstage, so if you want to be backstage or if you think your dancer will need you, please volunteer!!!ĭress Rehearsal: Dress rehearsals will be held at Westlake High School on Thursday, May 4 and Monday-Tuesday, May 8-9. Recital: Please arrive 20 minutes prior to your recital times in full costume with make-up and hair complete, wearing a cover-up.Īll dancers will sit with their class backstage for the duration of the ONE HOUR show. Kari is currently the owner and artistic director of Synergy Dance Academy studios where her students have experienced continued success in companies, colleges, and the commercial She was a featured dancer for the Mirage Hotel New Year's Celebration Show and for the music video "Want to Take You Down" by Saliva. Her commercial experience includes Wamm TV commercial, Denver Broncos CBS Affiliate commercial, Nikken Industrial and Spyder Skiwear Dancer/model. Kari's concert performance experience includes the Interweave Dance Theatre, guest artist in the Commonality Dance Benefit Show, Damsels Contemporary Dance Company, Wayne Foster Touring Company, and the Choreographer's Ball in Zurich, Switerland. Her training includes Walnut Hill School of the Arts (Natick, MA), Edge Performing Arts Center and Millinenium Dance Complex (Los Angeles, CA). Kari has inspired many students and audiences throughout her dance journey and is respectful of the art of teaching as well as performance.
